As some of you may know, I recently pulled a stint in the hospital, thanks to a rebellious gallbladder. I'm told that, unless I want to develop another gallstone and pass it will all the pomp and circumstance that could be mistaken for a heart attack, I need to start eating breakfast. Also, apparently my body is some strange nexus of potassium. So, more bananas, too.
I hate breakfast. Love brunch. But breakfast is lame and often just makes me want to go back to bed. It's awful. I also don't care that much for bananas. So I'm trying to trick myself into knocking out two birds with one delicious
Behold, smoothies!
Frozen blueberries, frozen banana orange juice, yoghurt, and spinach (I am assured I won't be able to taste it). Here's hoping.
Even put a little agave nectar in there, just to be fancy. But spinach. The recipe said to do a handful of spinach. How much is that, exactly?
In the end, I just stuffed in as much would fit. Success!
Uh. Sort of. Lesson learned: if you put the yoghurt on top of the liquid, you really have to work at it to get it to mix.
Perseverance. Always gets you there in the end.
